Have you seen the film ‘We bought a zoo’? Based on a true story -my favourite kind of films and books! This particular film has been replayed so many times in our house that I have lost count. It’s the feel good film that was the first thing my girl would ask for whenever she was poorly. It’s a story about a father who after the loss of his wife moves his young family to the countryside to try and renovate and reopen a zoo. There is joy and sadness, love and struggles -everything that pulls you in!
All that previous information is not really of any importance apart from introducing you to the film if you haven’t seen it. The motive I have for bringing this fabulous story to your attention is for one simple yet incredibly powerful reason; the 20 second rule.
Coinciding with going through the program ‘Making of a Champion’ with some young people again, I have again been thinking of the link between courage and confidence.
What would you do if you had unlimited courage? What would you change today if you knew you had the courage to do so?
What if all it takes is 20 seconds of insane courage, 20 seconds of embarrassing bravery?
As someone wise once said; courage is nothing more than taking one more step than you think you can!
